Juan García Lucas. Aliases: Juan PIXELECTA Juan is a photographer who practices photography with absolute passion. He usually travels around northern Spain with his camera; Picos de Europa, the Cantabrian coast or his beloved Palentina Mountain, and outside of Spain he does not miss the opportunities to travel with other experienced photographers, to places in the world that stand out in photogenic beauty such as the French Alps, Lake Baikal, Dolomites or Iceland. He is obsessed with the greatness of the moment captured, the diagonals in the composition and seeks to achieve photographs that can stand out for their difference. With these premises, several of his photos have won awards in international competitions such as the SIPA (Siena International Photo Awards), GDT European Wildlife Photographer of The Year, NPOTY Nature Photographer of The Year, MONTPHOTO, MML Memorial Maria Luisa, TROFEO GUIPÚZCOA INTERNACIONAL, Bio Photo Contest, ASFÉRICO Photo Cotest, AsisaFoto, Narava Photo Contest, Trierenberg Super Circuit, IPA International Photo Awards Latin, and other recognitions at The Epson Pano Awards, Fine Art (FAPA), IPOTY, Siena Drone Award or the MIFA in Moscow. On the national scene he stands out as winner of 1st Prize in the “Plants” category of the “AEFONA for Conservation”, Absolute Winner of Naturcyl 2018 and second in 2022, or an “Ortiz Echague” National Award. He has won the “Ciudad de Vitoria” Photographic Rally, the Reinosa Rally, the Aguilar de Campoo Rally and 3rd in the Riaño Rally, and is also a two-time winner of the Palencia Provincial Council contest. He is a member of the photographers collective “Portfolio Natural” since 2020, collaborating on the book “The Art of Photographing Nature”. He has taken the photographs for the Ethnobotany books “Plants in the Palentina Mountain” and “Plants in Páramos and Valles Palentina”. He has also contributed to some publications such as the printed magazine \"Iris\" by Aefona, “Grandes Espacios”, with a cover in February 2022 and in digital magazines such as “[ModeM] Magazine”, “La Mirada de los Fotografías”, “ Nature Speaks”, being the cover of said magazine on two occasions. He has also been entrusted with taking the official photographs for the “Palencia Tourism Guide”, photographs for promotion and tourism of the city.
